Check out Batman Begins and The Dark Knight storyboards by Jim Cornish!

The Batman films prove Christopher Nolan is a master at dramatic action, but he also has some insanely cool action scenes. His team included Jim Cornish and Martyin Ansbury as storyboard artists and Jim told me a little about what it was like to work on the film. See storyboards from Batman Begins ("Gordon meets Wayne,""Batman meeting Rachel" and the "Batmobile Chase") and from The Dark Knight ("Joker Bank Robbery" and "The Ambush").

Jim Cornish and Martin Ansbury are both professional storyboard artists who've worked on blockbuster movies like Skyfall (2012) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011).

"Working on the film was great fun - who doesn't want to draw Batman!" Cornish said, "What made it so much better was working with my great friend and fellow storyboard artist Martin Asbury - He's one of the reasons I got in to boarding in the first place and he's such a knowledgeable and funny fella."

"The chase scene at police headquarters is all original ideas and very little changed really - the sequence as it appears in the film is slightly shorter (though not by much) and the geography of the building may be slightly different but the main strokes are certainly there. The main interior was a building in London, the rooftop was a building in Chicago which is the reason the sequence was boarded - to make sure the two locations would cut together and tell the story!"

"I really enjoyed boarding the Batmobile - Martin did most of the early work with it - but as time went on I picked up the chase in Lower Wacker drive in Chicago - Once you know the shape of the thing it's like drawing anything else, in some ways easier because it is faceted so there are plenty of angles. We also had access to prototype models, Art Dept concepts and at later stages one of the actual vehicles to explore."

"The whole film was a challenge because it was the biggest movie I'd boarded at the time - but it was great fun to face those challenges."
